The January Book - The Power of Less by Leo Babauta
Howdy Team Awesome! The Power of Less by Leo Babauta came to my attention at work. I work at the University of Kentucky and one of our professors uses it in a graduate level course as a textbook. It caught my eye. The subtitle sold me - The Fine Art of Limiting Yourself to the Essential. I have two jobs (day job and writing job), a boyfriend, deadlines, an anthology I'm editing, cooking lessons, things to do, people to beat. I'm distracted and interrupted constantly. It's impossible sometimes to get one single thing done in a day. This book might not change my life but it's worth a shot, eh?
I've only read the introduction to the book so far but I'm already intrigued. I told Andrew (@andrewtshaffer on Twitter) that my philosophy of reading self-help books is that if I get one useful thing out of the book that I can keep and use for the rest of my life, it's been worth the time and effort.
If you're participating in the Team Awesome Book Club, get yourself a copy of the book, start reading, and post thoughts in the comment fields below. Also, if you post on Twitter or on your own blog about the book, hashtag your tweet with the official Team Awesome Book Club hashtag #TAbookclub.
Thanks, Twitches! Happy reading!
